Policies and Procedures for Interpreters


If you are interested in applying for employment with San Marcos Interpreting, please complete our Employment Application Packet and return it to us  by email, fax, mail or by dropping it off at our office.   We will need a copy of your certification card and driver's license along with your application packet.   After we have received your packet back, we will process your application and complete a criminal background check.    Often, we are able to complete your criminal background check without requiring that you have fingerprinting completed for SMI specifically.   However, sometimes we are not able to access your records in the Texas DPS Criminal Records database.   In those situations, we will contact you and provide you the document and instructions necessary to complete fingerprinting that is required to complete your background check.   Once your application has been processed in full, we will contact you to let you know that it has been completed and that you have been added to our active roster.   At that time, you will be added to our email distribution list and will start receiving notifications of assignments available.
